Diamond Dealers Club’s Ringer dies

New York—Diamond Dealers Club (DDC) President Jacob Banda has announced that DDC Secretary Sylvain Ringer has died.
Ringer, a leader in the DDC for more than 20 years as well as a key player in the Belgian diamond community, was hailed as an outstanding diamantaire.
His numerous activities in the diamond industry included planning and implementing business-development programs and playing vital roles in such celebrations as the DDC’s 75th anniversary event and the 2004 World Diamond Congress in New York.
“Sylvain Ringer was an inspirational leader for all of us,” Banda said in a media release issued on June 27. “A charitable, creative and dynamic man, his dedication to our perseverance will exist sorely missed. We extend our condolences to the entire Ringer family.”
